Join Buffalo's new Balinese Dance class! Six weeks of fun community oriented dance classes! We will demonstrate and practice basic Balinese dance skills and methods in an inclusive and fun environment. Balinese dance is beautiful movement art that uses the whole body and is incredibly expressive!

This class will teach fundamental movements and positions as well as learning choreography for a Balinese dance song. Participants in the class will have the opportunity to perform in a major music and Dance performance in May 2025.

Schedule:
Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:00pm
First class February 5th
Last class March 12th

Class Fees:
Class Fees are sliding scale to ensure people with any economic status may participate.

Teacher: Riesa Avanti
Riesa is a Nusantara Arts Board member and Indonesian woman from Jakarta who has been living in Buffalo for over 20 years. She grew up dancing and has started learning Balinese dance over the few years. SHe is now giving back to the community and starting to spread her knowledge here in Buffalo.
